Shanghai, China – The Rolex Shanghai Masters proudly announces the renewal of long-standing partnerships with its founding partner Heineken. Also among the Prestige Partners are Mercedes-Benz, American Express, and Shui Jing Fang. These renewals mark a continued commitment to excellence and underscore the tournament’s stature as Asia’s only Masters 1000 event.
Heineken: A Legacy That Began in 1998
Heineken’s relationship with professional tennis in Shanghai dates back to 1998, when it became the title sponsor of the Heineken Open. This collaboration laid the foundation for the city's emergence as a global tennis hub. While Heineken stepped back from title sponsorship during the Tennis Masters Cup (2005–2008), its support remained steadfast, reinforcing Shanghai’s position on the international stage.
Since the launch of the Rolex Shanghai Masters in 2009, Heineken has served as a Founding Partner, this partnership enhances the fan experience through innovative activations and premium hospitality. With the new agreement, Heineken will continue in this role until 2027. Heineken is also the Title sponsor of the Formula 1 Heineken Chinese Grand Prix.
Mercedes-Benz: Driving Excellence in Shanghai since 1998
Mercedes-Benz joined the tournament family in 1998 as a Major Sponsor during the Heineken Open era. In 2002 Mecedes became the Principal Sponsor for the Tennis Masters Cup. With the transformation of the event into the Rolex Shanghai Masters in 2009, the brand elevated its role to Prestige Sponsor — a move that brought added prestige, practical value, and the endorsement of the leading luxury car brand in mainland China.
Each year, Mercedes-Benz provides a fleet of over 80 luxury vehicles to transport players, officials, and VIP guests in style and comfort. Their continued sponsorship is confirmed through 2028, reinforcing the brand’s association with performance, luxury, and precision.
American Express: Renewed through 2027
Known globally for its support of tennis events such as the US Open, the Rolex Shanghai Masters and several other international tour events American Express brings its signature blend of premium events and customers’ global recognition to the Rolex Shanghai Masters.
American Express will continue as a Prestige Sponsor of the Rolex Shanghai Masters until 2027, playing a key role in delivering elevated experiences to tennis fans in one of the most dynamic markets in the world. American Express China also engages world top 50 player Zhang Zhizhen as a China ambassador.
Tournament organizers are grateful to our founding partner Heineken and our prestige sponsors Mercedes Benz and American Express for their long-term commitment. Tournament Director for the Rolex Shanghai Masters, Mr. Michael A. Luevano said “These partnerships are a reflection of mutual trust and a shared vision for what the Rolex Shanghai Masters represents—not just in China, but on the global tennis calendar,”.
