After missing out last year, Daniil Medvedev is well set to make a Nitto ATP Finals return in 2026.
With his run to the semi-finals at the Rolex Shanghai Masters, the former World No. 1 took another big step towards Turin, while #NextGenATP Rafael Jodar and Tommy Paul also boosted their hopes of reaching the season finale with their respective showings in China.
ATPTour.com looks at the movers of the week in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin as of Monday 19 October.
Daniil Medvedev – Sixth (3,420 points), +2
The 2020 Nitto ATP Finals champion qualified for the season finale every year from 2019 to 2024, and he appears set to put last year’s disappointment behind him quickly. The 30-year-old Medvedev defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paul in Shanghai en route to his third ATP Masters 1000 semi-final of the season: He has leapfrogged Arthur Fils and Frances Tiafoe into sixth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin as a result.
Medvedev could further boost his qualification chances this week at the Almaty Open, where he will compete as the top seed and defending champion.

Rafael Jodar – Ninth (3,159 points), +2
The 20-year-old Jodar added another milestone to his standout debut season by reaching his first Masters 1000 final in Shanghai. Although he was unable to hold off Alejandro Davidovich Fokina to take the trophy, Jodar has significantly increased his chances of completing his surprise run to a Nitto ATP Finals spot. The Spaniard is up to ninth in the Live Race and, with Jannik Sinner having ended his 2026 season due to injury, he is effectively in the final qualifying position for Turin.
Tommy Paul – 12th (2,585 points), +2
Chasing his Nitto ATP Finals debut, the 29-year-old Paul reeled off three straight-sets victories in Shanghai before losing a three-setter against Medvedev in the quarter-finals. The American has jumped two spots to 12th as a result, but will know he needs a deep run at this week’s Grand Prix Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes in Lyon in order to sustain his qualification hopes.
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina – 16th (2,450 points), +13
Davidovich Fokina may still only be an outside contender to reach Turin, but the Spaniard certainly injected plenty of intrigue into the final few weeks of his season with a dramatic run to the title in Shanghai. The 27-year-old saved a match point against Tiafoe and rallied past Alexander Zverev, Hubert Hurkacz and Jodar to claim the crown in China, and he is now up to 16th in the Live Race.
Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz and Ben Shelton have already qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals, which will take place from 15-22 November at Inalpi Arena in Turin.
