The ATP has announced its series of year-end awards, and the 2024 Rolex Shanghai Masters has been recognized with a new award, the "Standards of Excellence" for Masters 1000 tournaments.
This award, introduced this year by the ATP, is based on player ratings according to various ATP standards. The Rolex Shanghai Masters has been recognised for achieving the highest player rating in its category as an ATP Masters 1000 in the Tournament Standards evaluation, earning the "Standards of Excellence" recognition.
Since its inception in 2009, the Rolex Shanghai Masters was awarded ATP Masters 1000 Tournament of the Year in five consecutive years, showcasing the high level of appreciation from both the ATP and players for the quality of the tournament.
This latest accolade further underscores the event's excellence in facilities, services, atmosphere, and other aspects, receiving unanimous praise from participating players.
"The Rolex Shanghai Masters has always gone out of its way to create the best environment and facilities for the players who are by far the stars of the show," Tournament Director Michael Luevano said. "This award highlights all that has been done and produced by the tournament from the state-of-the-art gym to the fine dining in the player restaurant through to players operations and transport.
"This year arguably the biggest hit for the players was the new 9-hole putt putt golf course highlighting Shanghai's best-known landmarks, that was created right off the player lounge and dining area. It was yet another attraction along with multiple practice courts that helped allow the players to enjoy their time at the Rolex Shanghai Masters and in Shanghai.
"On behalf of the tournament and all its personnel, thank you to the players for providing us with tremendous ratings and allowing us to win the Standards of Excellence award. As we have worked to do each year, we will once again build on the standards that have been set."
The Rolex Shanghai Masters looks forward to welcoming the players back to QiZhong Stadium 1-12 October 2025 for Asia's biggest, richest and most important men's tournament.
