The many fans who have longed to see Roger Federer return to a tennis court enjoyed a treat at the Rolex Shanghai Masters on Friday.
The Swiss star, twice a champion of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament, took to the court alongside Eason Chan, a prominent singer and actor in the region. They pair faced top Chinese player Zhang Zhizhen and world champion table tennis player Fan Zhendong in an exhibition match.
Showcasing the skill that has made him such a beloved fan favourite, the Swiss claimed yet another match win at Qi Zhong Tennis Centre. Federer's joyful return to the city follows a special appearance at the 2023 tournament, when he was named an Icon Athlete of the event.
